I've felt like I've had more housekeeping problems this year as well, maybe staff cutbacks because of the economy?

Began the year at the then-newly-renovated Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Philly -- bloodstain on the comforter. Left a note for housekeeping to please replace, and instead they tried to flip it over so the stain wasn't visible. Luckily a HK supervisor was right there in the hall by my room so I was able to get it resolved right away.

Problems at other places ranged from returning to room at 4:30 p.m. and it hadn't been made up yet, to finding pins scattered on the floor from the previous guest, and other minor stuff. Nothing earth-shattering, but perhaps a result of housekeepers having to service more rooms per day than in the past.
