Sofitel Lisbon is a very pleasant hotel for location and service.

Still, there are numerous very good hotels in Lisbon (some of them may be cheaper than Sofitel, even if Sofitel is generally very cheap).

My favourite is Inspira Santa Maria: very nice design, pleasant restaurant, very central location. Excellent value.

I also like Altis Belem (not the most central place, but superb contemporary building with great view over the river).

Bairro Alto has excellent location, but overpriced for what you get. Still very pleasant breakfast and bar.

Ritz Four Seasons : excellent service and spa. Comfortable but very classic rooms.
