I was trying to find AirBerlin intraeruope award availability (using AA miles) through AA site, but didn't show any. It does show AB availbility from the US to say, TXL, but not for connection in Europe from TXL. I know I once read about this, but couldn't find the thread.
Any ideas on how to get around this? Do I have to call American? If so, any other free tool to look for AB availability in Europe, before calling?

What city pairs?
I did a test for DUS to TXL on March 4, and aa.com shows 7 nonstops with award availability
TXL to Paris showed 2. I entered CDG, but it ORY was returned, presumably because that is the Paris airport they fly to from TXL
