To answer the question.

1. If you're stopped for a routine violation, you would get away with it 99+ times out of 100.

2. If you got busted, it's $3k fine and time wasted.

3. If you're involved in accident where there is injury no license is automatically treated as reckless driving, and you can get a 15 year jail sentence. (And they will carefully check an IDP in an accident.)

4. Why would you do this when it only takes 5 minutes and $20 to get an IDP.
