A better solution is to not have stamps in passports but to just swipe the passport for entry and exit . If you want a souvenir stamp then you could use the pages for that. Other than that the customs agent could swipe your passport and all the Visa information is stored and can be accessed on their computer.

Could this technically work? We swipe our credit card when we make purchases, Frequent Flier Card at the airport kiosks, Swipe our passport to verify data etc.
