As noted throughout, most Western and higher class hotels have outlets than are capable of taking almost any kind of plug (US, Euro, UK). If you want to be on the safe side, I've found that a Euro-style plug is almost certain to work if the US style does, so get one of those adapters. In Shenzhen, which is near Hong Kong, the UK style plug seems a bit more common, but not where you're going.
