I forgot to mention a couple of interesting facts.
My boarding pass for 27K beeped in a strange way when boarding and the agent took it and tried to do something for about 3 minutes. Then she just handed it back to me without scanning and told I am ok to board. Consequently, a week later I see no miles posted on my account for the flight.
The gate agents did not seem too bothered to look at my reservation and took a good 5-8 minutes doing something without telling me a word. They also said that they cannot rescind one of the two upgrades already made (even though boarding did not even start) to accommodate me.
