AC is probably trying to get more people to fill their planes, thus giving a cheaper price than SQ and QF. Of course, LHR-YVR-SYD is &gt;4000 miles more than LHR-SIN-SYD which would be SQ, QF, and BA's routings. And, the downside is that you lose two days doing LHR-YVR-SYD.
