2 questions, 1st paragraph, no and yes.

2nd paragraph, someone else will need to say with certainty as its getting close. It is not too late for hotel transfers, but the CC bonus may be a bit tricky. There is the insane method. You can buy a bunch of stuff through the shopping portal, especially if you have one of the credit cards. The points may not post until after the first of the year but it will be a 2013 transaction and will credit toward 2014 CP qualification, its just that it may be well into 2014 before the system knows that you earned it in 2013 and have 2014 CP. I think, but do not know, that the system quits issuing CP for the current year based on last year's points as last year is last year and if you did not have the points you won't have the points, but you do they just have not posted yet. It is insane because you may now have to call CS and explain this and what you did and that is what they will think you are until they actually look up the points.

Postscript for paragraph 1 question 2: I can't imagine that I just suggested that the WN booking engine is "smart enough." In fact, it will often not allow booking of earned CP past the first of the year putting it in the "not smart enough" but backward of how you need it to be "not smart."
