Where I come from passports can't have pages added to the existing 48 so my friend has peeled off several used Chinese and Indian visas. Didn't dare to touch the Canadian one as it says "property of the government of Canada".

While he didn't run into any problems, I wouldn't recommend it unless you really don't have the time to renew/add pages. (My friend couldn't spare even one hour to get his new passport)
