When you flight air Canada for example, when you check in at the 24 hours mark, they offer a cash method to upgrade to business. The price depends on plane load, type of ticket you have. etc... But most of the time everyone can upgrade.
I have a few united flights coming up but specifically to Thailand via Japan. How does United allow upgrades? It seems its on points and cash with your own program. Do they offered a similar upgrade system to AC, one person has no status where the other will be Gold status with star alliance.
If people have upgraded either within 24hrs or at check in, how much has it cost you? Will be flying early February.
Welcome to Flyertalk. You apparently havent searched too very hard, because every other thread is about upgrades, but I'll be glad to answer your questions (such as I can) United will offer you cash upgrades on checkin (if there is a seat available to upgrade to). The cost will vary, depending on length of flight, whether it is international or not, and status of passenger (the last is debatable, and many threads here do that, but work with me here) I
If you want to pay cash for upgrade, you dont even have to wait until checkin, you can go to United.com and view your reservation, and there will likely bee an offer.....
Enjoy your flights
