Yes, expanding TSA in any way would be yucky.

Best course would be pulling back. Get rid of the faux cop outfits. Ban the loud yelling at people by screeners. Remove rank insignia from TSA clothing. Act upon all complaints. Appoint a civilian review board not loaded with industry insiders. Demand compliance with TSA policies by screeners. TSA is the problem, not travelers.
