While factually correct, I regret to inform you that I had a felony committed against me earlier this year with a value of over $1,000,000. Local police in Dallas? Not interested in pursuing it. FBI? Not even the courtesy of a reply, nor the ability to speak to a human being.
I'm now out thousands in legal fees, and I won a temporary injunction against the defendant in the pretrial hearing, but the guy I'm suing is flat broke, has a free attorney though a friendship in his church (of all places!) and is forcing me to take this all the way to trial. My legal fees are only increasing in frequency and amount as we get closer to trial, and I have to see it through or I could end up getting hit with paying HIS attorney for billable hours.
Do yourself and your mother a favor. Cuss, rant, slam some books on the floor and move on. You'll come out ahead. I had to stop this guy or he would have literally stolen my business. Your loss has ended.
He was a 20+ year close friend (I thought). I had trusted him to do some work on my site, and he used the access to steal a copy of my programming, then erased all my SEO, put code in the back end that told Google "Do not follow," which made us invisible on Google for months, and he launched his own company using my software, including products, pricing, photos, customer history, etc. I lost a LOT, but I had everything to lose if I didn't fight him. I'd gladly give you 200,000 miles to trade places.
