I was just thinking the same thing, except actually going so far as to contact the show and see if they'd have any interest in picking it up. I believe the deal you sign on for is that nobody actually comes out losing financially (which is likely why the amounts aren't huge and also likely the reason your missing miles might not be taken on by the show... too expensive).
