Under normal circumstances your status is good for the remainder of the year earned, the year after that, and through Feb the year following that. My guess is their card generation process is using that formula. The fact you completed a challenge may not get processed. As suggested, send a message to MR and get their official ruling, and keep their response in case they change their mind next year.
