Sorry, but have to agree with Purser@AC on this one. If AC gets the fuel under contract from a supplier, then any claims must be made against the supplier. This is beyond AC's control, just as the de-icing fiasco at YYZ in April. Annoying, frustrating, costly. But AC cannot be expected to compensate all affected for an act that was not under its immediate control. With likely 20,000 passengers affected, providing hotels and meals would have cost the carrier $2 million, money it certainly does not have.
