MSPeconomist,

OK, great, I had not even considered Bali. Sounds interesting.

You are right that the price wasn't clear. How about this:

Budget $20,000 - all inclusive, hotel, airplane, food, entertainment
4 adults + one 4 year old, 2 separate rooms. (one couple can't join)

No need for a special "retreat" or "resort", hopefully a good long term memory.

Flights from Beijing to destination, possibly business class.

An example,

Business class PEK-> dest x 5 = $2,000 x 5 = $10,000
Hotel 5 nights (suites?) x 2 = $700 x 10 = $7,000
Food/entertainment / day = $750 x 4 = $3,000

I'm not too excited about the St. Regis. Not familiar with the concept of a "butler". Feels like a stranger putting my stuff in a place that I'm not used to and I end up having to move it where I want anyway. I checked the prices for the St. Reqis suites in Bangkok and they seemed significantly more than suites in the W, Westin or Sheraton.

I'm not ruling it out, like I said, it should be memorable, so maybe having that stranger messing with our stuff will be memorable.
