In addition to the comment above, if you purchase the weeks from Marriott's Resales Department you will also be able to trade them into Marriott on a yearly or every other year basis for Marriott Rewards Points (hotel rewards program). Every Resale week sold by Marriott Resale has that feature (The rewards points differ based on the resort week you purchase.). I have very recently purchased 2 resale weeks from Marriott for the specific purpose of trading them for Marriott Rewards Points yearly (110,000 ea).
