I wanted us to be able to sit together, so when booking on delta.com I made two separate reservations for those flights. Now I am wondering if I messed up for purposes of checked baggage.
I'd like to be able to check my bag all the way to GCM when I depart from JFK. I don't want to have to collect my back in ATL and recheck it then go through security a second time there.
Is this possible, or did I really screw up?
Thank you.
I've had this situation in the past where I have two different tickets (one from non-hub airport to hub with second from hub to destination). The first ticket was on $ basis where the second was on award. In any case, at check-in we noted that our final destination was based on the second ticket and bags were checked through the destination airport.
I don't think calling ahead or tweet to @deltaassist would have a different solution but would be interested in hearing whether they were able to "connect" the tickets.
