I went back into Finnair for AUS-TXL and then LHR-AUS. If you play with your dates there are some lower prices:

The grid shows your dates +/- 3 days, and you can get this down as low as $1370, depending on how much flexibility you have.

Be careful if booking via Finnair - according to AA, all their flights earn at least 100% RDM, but their lowest fare buckets earn only 50% status miles.
