I am trying to travel from Los Angeles to London to Capetwon (and return) in March 2014 on BA using avios for first class tickets. I have plenty of avios/AmEx miles and am willing to pay for taxes and fees. I cannot find any available seats on any BA flights from Feb 1 to April 1, 2014. A friendly BA representative told me that current manifests show very few seats sold and no award seats issued but BA has not released any seats for award travel.
Does anyone have any experience or guidance on how to overcome this or when/whether seats will be released.
BA offers the best direct service for my itinerary and all of my past experiences with them have been positive.
I'd appreciate any information or recommendations.
