You know what, I actually do.
If I am looking to buy a ticket with miles, then, I also will check the price of the ticket with cash, to choose whichever is the best value at the time.
That is not "detrimental" to "United". That's just a rational purchasing process. Compare Option A to Option B and choose the best value.
So, what they're really saying is that trying to compare options and choose the best value is "detrimental" to the company and grounds for confiscation of mileage earned through decades or more of loyalty?
