I agree...the faffing about involved having to connect makes a weekend away more stressful and time consuming than it's worth. When we lived in Glasgow and went away for the weekend we would only fly to destinations which were served direct and only connect when stays were no less than 4 nights.
We flew Ryanair to avoid having to connect and found it a much more relaxing experience than having to change.

It's okay if you like spending time on planes and in lounges but even with RFS it's too much travelling just for a short stay. Direct is best if you can get it.
