strange meal times in Y on ORD-HKG
I've been on this flight once before, but in J. This time (1 Nov) it was in Y, made more bearable by being given the bulkhead aisle by the nice check-in lady.
We were fed 2 hours into the flight ("lunch") and then again 9 hours into the flight ("dinner"). The lights were turned on so that everyone would wake up and eat. For the rest of the 15-hour flight there was no food except the packaged cookies and chips (all the sandwiches were long gone by then and I saw no evidence of noodles).
Is this normal, and why? They didn't do it in J my previous time, and I've never seen this practice on similar-length flights on other airlines.
