My SO and I received 10,200 AA miles each on a recent trip to Europe. We are not regular AA miles collectors. Seems an off season flight within the US could be 12000 miles. Is it worth buying the extra miles? Also is there high tax, etc to be paid on an award flight? Is a hotel night a poor use of miles?
