Door #2 --- sometimes different tricks on multi-city will get the additional flights to show but calling should work fine.
You can plead that the website was not working correct and ask for a phone booking waiver -- occasionally folks have reported success doing this. Another option is book what you can online and then call to make the change -- there is no fee for changes. Do this all in the 24 hour window allowing free cancellations.
