I noticed today that the language you get when you hover over "Mileage Expiration Date" used to say (if you were a Chase Cardholder) something to the effect of "miles never expire so long as you're not in default." Now is says they expire 18 months from the last activity date.
Mine hasn't changed. From the website just now:
Thank you for being a Chase MileagePlus cardmember. Your miles will not expire as long as your credit card account is active, your annual membership fee has been paid and the card is not in default. Upon cancellation of your credit card account, your miles will expire in accordance with the MileagePlus program rules.
