Comfort Hotel Diana Venice, Italy
Holy cow, is this a bargain at 8,000 points/night. We stayed here in October 2013.
The location can't be beat. About 1 block from St. Mark's square. That said, it is VERY hard to find, on a tiny alley with no sign that you can see until you are in front of it. The closest vaporetti station is San Marco-San Zaccaria, then walk across St. Mark's Square on the basilica side to get there.
Our room had dated furnishings but the beds were comfortable. The room overlooked the street/alley that is in front of the hotel, so it did get noisy at times, but not enough to prevent sleep. There was AC, but it was not on at this time. The room is small, with a large armoire with just a few hangers. There is an in-room safe and basic mini-bar with reasonable prices.
Breakfast is on the first floor and was basic, but nice. It is not self-serve. A basket of breads, jams, packages cheeses and yogurt is brought out to you, along with coffee or tea as you prefer.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
No question I would stay here again on points. An incredible bargain given the prices in Venice.
ETA: Just returned from another points stay here (November 2014) and everything was exactly the same. There were unfortunately no screens on the windows and plenty of mosquitoes (still) so that is an annoyance to watch out for.
