Yes BA can sometimes be very competitive and worth a look. I agree sometimes there isn't as much choice regarding the rooms compared to other sites or even with the Hotels direct. Sometimes BA throw in free breakfast, internet, guaranteed room upgrades too.

Another consideration is booking a 'flight + hotel' together which can occasionally reap some good savings but I don't know if that's an option for you for the future.

Haggis for Breakfast?!!! Yuk and it isn't common in Hotels up here although quite a few traditional B&B's sometimes serve it. Better with Black Pudding, FRIED tomatoes and tattie scones!
