I was checking prices today for a trip to Boston in a couple of weeks for myself and a work colleague.

As I expected, adding a hotel to the booking (Hilton Boston Back Bay) gave a big discount. Now, I've already booked my flight, so I then went to check out the prices for the hotel for me.

What surprised me was that the price for the hotel on its own via BA, i.e. without a flight, was much cheaper than direct with Hilton or via Expedia. Did a bit of searching and BA was by far the cheapest. £179 per night direct and £110 through BA.

Never really considered using BA to book just the hotel. Downsides I could see are the lack of room choice via BA and a 20% cancellation charge. But still worth it for this trip and I'll keep it in mind for the future.
