I read the first few pages of the thread and the last few but couldn't find any comments about: do we need to be on T-Mobiles network to enjoy this new freedom? I just landed in the UK today and from my current location I can see: O2, Vodaphone, EE, 3 and I occasionally see t-mobile...so will I get nailed (with roaming fees) unless I lock on to t-mobiles network?
In the UK I think EE is T-Mobile, but I don't think you have to be on that network to take advantage of the free global roaming. My guess is on some networks you will or will not get a data signal due to the state of a roaming agreement.
