I don't know...I'm torn on whether you should call or not. I imagine this happens so rarely that they don't have an automate process looking for it. My instinct is that calling will only get you in trouble.
On the other side, it can often be quite challenging to fix award flights last minute if they get cancelled, particularly on partners. So if you have a particularly desirable set of awards, you might want to be proactive?
