Ok, a bit O/T but yes I would agree with the sentiments that, at least from an outsiders' point of view, the military industrial complex and the deference generally to the military in the US does seem a bit concerning - I think the AA boarding priority is really a small symptom of that. Eisenhower was a very wise man with his warning at the end of his presidency and could see what was happening.

Just to make clear, I don't seek to criticise the individuals who serve - I have not done any military service myself and am grateful to those who choose to do so.
