Undoubtedly, but it seems that choosing to stop doing all of this would be due to her belief that somehow this hobby is unethical. I'm wondering if it makes sense to work to change that mindset, or if others have had luck with other approaches/advise giving in.

Haha, a little of both. Therein lies a lot of the conflict, I think there's some guilt that our travels are "something for nothing" in her words. Trust has come up many times with all of this, with her in the past insisting I pledge not to use my miles/points on her--though now that's no longer sufficient.
