My interesting elevator experience (in NYC):
I get in on the elevator.
Chinese man is inside the elevator already standing in the middle (trust me, I know he is Chinese).
He doesn't move, so no matter where I stand he is about 1 foot away from me.
He reeks like cigarette smoke.
He stares at me.
Then, he says to me in Chinese: "Do you speak Chinese" ("中文吗？“）
To which I reply in Chinese: ”Of course" (当然可以”）
Elevator reaches the first floor.
Man grunts, and walks away.
