I think fundamentally we have different ideas on what is acceptable. To me, collecting miles on multiple credit cards and closing them a year later is totally legitimate. To her, it's gaming the system and a reflection of how I might approach other ethical questions in the future. I think despite my argument that collecting miles is separate from how I approach my life, she's insistent that they are intertwined and that it makes it difficult for her to trust me. I can't tell if this is something others have experienced, or if this is a situation that's unique to me, but either way I'm stumped as to the best way forward.
Looks like you are describing my wife here though she's quite excited about our upcoming free hawaii trip ...lol

but her concern is more to do with me not getting into any trouble doing all this...which I understand and appreciate mostly. but that doesn't stop me one bit...
