Next month, I am planning on taking Amtrak from Washington to NYC and arrive mid day. I will have a rollerboard and a laptop bag with me. I have a meeting that should take only a couple of hours, after which I plan on driving from NYC to Easton, PA that evening.

I don't want to take my rollerboard to my meeting, which I am planning on going to by subway from Penn Station to Bowling Green.

What would be ideal would be for me to "pick up" my car at the Hertz Midtown location on 34 St between 8th and 9th Avenues, but not actually drive it away, right away. Instead, I would put the rollerboard in the trunk and then take the subway to my meeting and back. And then drive to Easton.

Has anyone ever tried to do such a thing in NYC? And if so, did it work?
