Wow. Is there a special reason you'd like to visit Vietnam? Will you travel the whole country or just around SGN? And thanks for the info about booking. I do need to learn more about it.
I have had great luck getting availability. Family of 3, three trips already in the last 5 years. Once for the asian new year. Routing is normally east coast/ord or dfw/nrt/sgn and the same for the way back. Two trips were obtained 2 months out. The one for the Asian new years was 6 months out. All on aa and JAL.
I had to settle for plus or minus a day on one trip but not really a deal breaker in my situation
