Is 12 Noon really not a "Traditional meal time"?

Hi all,

I used to fly Continental all the time as a CO Gold, but shortly after the merger with United and the announcement of the end of the relationship with Amex, I decided to move on to Delta.

In any event, I have a couple of international itineraries coming up with legs on United, and the possibility to do some more, but I'm really confused as to what United's policy is on meals.

Specifically: I am flying on UA1581 (SEA-IAH), from 11:56AM to 6:05PM, a distance of 1874 miles.

According to this page:
http://www.united.com/web/en-US/cont...st/dining.aspx
900–2,299 miles
Code:
(Approximately 2.5–5 hours)	Full meal service during traditional meal times or a light and refreshing snack in between traditional meal times
1874 is towards the high end of that range, and I personally tend to eat lunch around noon, and sometimes even have dinner around 6PM... This seems to cross TWO "traditional meal times"

Yet:
This is what it shows on my reservation:
Flight: UA1581
Aircraft: Boeing 737-900
Fare Class: United First (I)
Meal: None

Looking at the flight status for the 1581 today, it seems to be slightly later, but still it shows:
Food:
United First: Snack

None? Snack? Do I really need to plan that United won't be feeding me, and try to quickly grab a meal on a tight inbound international connection? (NRT-SEA-IAH-FLL)??

Amazing how much things have changed since Gordon Bethune's "Meals at mealtime".
