I tried a search but couldn't get a detailed answer to what I am looking for.

I am a frequent traveler who flies somewhere from 100-150k miles per year and always check a 50lb bag. I've had for the past years soft side luggage but I am getting an average of 75k miles use on my bags before they start to wear or tear and have to replace it.

Because of this I am now looking on buying a hardside luggage to try and see how it goes but since I have no experience with it I come to ask to the people that have experience if they would recommend it for the travel I do? Should I try and see if I get at least 75k miles out of the bag?

Price difference is a bit higher for the hardside but I am inclining towards it if there are real benefits for this addition.
