Great report - thanks. Do you have any elite status with any of the hotel groups and did it count for upgrades? I've been considering the IC as I'm a Royal Ambassador and would get some upgrade. Only problem it's a long way from where I live!
Yeah, I'm gold with SPG and Amb with IC. But I'm positive the treatment
at the IC was better because I'm a returning guest (our 5th time there)
and at the St Regis I think the personal approach and me contacting
the manager before coming had a bigger impact. Also it's important to book
a "sweet spot", something with a highest chance of getting an amazing upgrade.
