Best to fly an Asian carrier like CX or SQ or any other Asian carrier when going to Asia.

Significantly younger FA's (most in their 20s and 30s, very few older than this), most of them will smile when communicating (although not always the case, but it's a hit more than a miss), much better service (walking through the aisle with water, juice, small snacks even when everyone is asleep) and most pax enjoy a cabin crew that look like they enjoy taking care of you.

Now take the carriers over here, and you're stuck with Angry Betty who looks annoyed when you ask her for a small bottle of water. I remember on DL295 late last year from ATL-NRT I asked an FA walking through the cabin in Y during the middle of the flight if I could have a small bottle of water. She looked at me, no smile...paused and then said "we don't have bottles." Hoping she would say "but I'll bring you something..." I also paused and said "ok can you bring me anything? a cup perhaps?" and I got a "ok let me go check. give me a few minutes." and a sigh.
