I pay one bill every year that gives me no second thoughts: my AAA bill. AAA rates are generally the lowest published hotel rates I can find (I'm excluding Priceline and mistake rates from this statement) and save me enough to justify my annual fee. I once took advantage of the AAA towing policy when I was using a friend's car that I had driven from San Jose, CA to Pebble Beach. The savings on the towing bill alone paid for several years of AAA membership.

I'm happy to pay an annual fee to get good peace of mind on the highway.

And, if this proves to be a low-cost way to boost my manufactured spend for a couple of months, so much the better.
