Tango fares count for AQS.
Also, this is not the cheapest way. It's the cheapest way flying AC metal (maybe).
I've taken two long weekend trips this year (so I do not consider them to be mileage runs, although I found them due to their cpm) that were under 6cpm. If you want to do pure mileage runs, you can easily beat 4cpm by flying UA/US.
So do that for 100k miles (or slightly less due to mileage accumulation on Tango) for $4000, then do five of those $100 Tango segments to hit your AC minimum. $4500 Super Elite
And that's assuming you can only get 4cpm. But even at 8cpm (which is jokingly easy), it still beats 95 $100 segments on AC.
The cheapest way to SE is to not fly AC
