I read up and with SDC, it is $75/passenger even on the same PNR. I will definitely keep track of the inbound aircraft from the first flight of the morning. These UX planes always make so many short hops in a day where one delay can throw off the whole chain of flights. I will definitely press the issue about getting on an earlier flight if there look like problems. The next earlier flight is 8:40AM vs 11:50Am so unfortunately not that close. But if the SMF-SFO flight is the problem...too late to do anything in advance.
