The suggestions you have are likely the best you will find this last minute.

As Gold you would be Sky Team Elite Plus which would get you access to Sky Clubs and partner lounges free on international itineraries. A great benefit. Also you can select economy comfort at discounted prices if that's relevant to you.

Also, you should complete your travel by 11:59PM on Saturday (Nov 2nd) so that you will be Gold when you start your trip on the 3rd. Though in some cases it can take more than 1 day to process miles and medallion status it's usually the next day. If the miles do not post before your outbound flight, don't expect delta to grant you status early. it won't happen.
