If you are in/out West Africa, both anglophone and francophone, then *A will work.
Eastern (and East) Africa, FB with Kenya tends to work.
Trans-Africa is basically limited to Ethiopian (*A) whose connections and local carriers within WA are dysfunctional, and to Kenyan.
If you are in the slightest way handicapped, I urge you most strongly to avoid Addis. The two lifts are broken, and staff have instructions (and no options) to push your wheelchair onto escalators. This almost emulates the brutalities I have experienced in FRA and MUC.
Wheelchairs in NBO are, on the other hand, very well-catered for.
I have been flying in and within Africa since 1980. In 2013 (so far) I have had to plan travel for my Delhi- and Ams-based film crew in West, Central and East(ern) Africa.
The crews are good, the lamb stew ubiquitous and good, and the seats suck, on Kenyan.
