I pointed this out to the manager and she said "that's just how it's done." Isn't handling raw food then cooked food without washing hands a health violation? With the violations in the BA lounges at LHR and watching this, I'm not too keen on eating lounge food. Although I realize this probably goes on in all restaurants...
I can't remember how many places I've been to with this practice. It annoys the hell out of the me too. In many instances it ends up with asking the food handler to change their gloves or properly wash their hands (them giving me the looks doesn't bother me). I'm called picky and fussy, but then wouldn't do any of the above in my own kitchen.
Haven't these chaps heard of tongs for handling different things? I know, it may be moving the contamination to the handles but still, would prefer the cook plating my salad to have NOT touched meat prior (or anything else really).
