I had similar problem with TK Elite status on recent LH flight. From HEL-MUC-FCO it showed TKP and there was nothing coded in ticket so I ended up showing my A3*G card for lounge access etc as I have not received my TK card yet.

On the way back it did show TK*G on ticket although I still had to show card for lounge access etc.
