Sixt or Europcar?
I'm looking to rent a car in Germany and I'm wondering if Sixt or Europcar is better. Europcar gave me a quote of $525 CAD for an Audi A3 and Sixt is giving me a $360 CAD quote for a Volkswagen Golf. The prices include GPS rental and young driver's surcharge. I won't need the CDW as my credit card covers that. However, I do have $1,500 CAD credit card limits on my two credit cards so I'm worried about the potential hold. I can use up the whole limit on one card as the other one is for hotels. The Europcar online chat guy said that Europcar Germany typically holds up to 200 EUR on a rental and Sixt says up to 3-4 times the price. Given the horror stories I've heard about Europcar France and Italy, I'm leaning a bit towards Sixt, but I'm worried about the hold. As such, which one should I choose? As well, is Düsseldorf Airport or Frankfurt Airport better to rent from? I still haven't booked my ticket yet.
